Today’s DAS and Small Cell market are in the middle of a transformation from a domain solely owned by the wireless carriers to one resembling a typical IT. Technologies such as ORAN and NRU are opening wireless networking technologies to many new entrants. These new players in the enterprise space enjoy the security model offered with SIM/eSIM registration which also allows them to set roaming agreements with wireless carriers. This new paradigm will shift some of the cost burdens to the IT and engineering staff of these enterprises or to companies that can support that role. New technologies on the bonding of multiple wavelengths will result in higher and higher data rates being supported per strand of fiber. Lit services with new ROADM technologies will also become more viable for services than just dark fiber. Fourier is actively enhancing its services capabilities around the fiber.
